Annot is an SVG-first screenshot annotation toolkit you can call from a Playwright fixture, edit by hand in a browser PWA, or store inside a GitHub repo. The same annotation format powers all three. Free hosted atannot.work; the entire codebase is Apache-2.0 OSS onGitHub.

Product description

Annot is an open-source screenshot annotation toolkit designed around a portable SVG format. Test engineers install@ingcreators/annot-playwright and drop a single fixture call into their Playwright suite — the annotator captures the page, overlays an annotation SVG, and attaches the resulting PNG to the HTML report. The same format underpins a free in-browser editor atannot.work/app, a Chrome capture extension, an Electron desktop app, and a VSCode custom editor — all sharing one core. Apache-2.0 across the board, no telemetry by default, optional cloud sync. Built by ingcreators, a one-person OSS shop in Japan focused on developer tools that respect their users' data.
